Did you know that STRESSED spelled backward is DESSERTS? I truly think it’s a sign.

Jennifer Ashley links to a wonderfully candid post from Lynn Viehl, who dissects her latest royalty statement to find out how many books it took to hit the New York Times bestseller list.  I think one of the most interesting facets of this whole publishing business is how nothing is guaranteed and what works for one book might not have any effect on a different book.

Angie Fox, C.L. Wilson and I are slated to give a presentation on a similar topic at the national RWA convention this summer.  In “Anatomy of a Bestseller,” we’ll discuss what efforts worked for these two authors, both of whom hit the bestseller lists with their debut.
